Worksop Library reopening

Back in November 2019 exceptional rainfall led to Worksop Library suffering devastating flooding through the 2000sqm building closing the library to the public. Through the fast work of staff from across Inspire, all the book stock and local heritage items were saved from flood and damp damage and we able to be stored in safe conditions

Recovery specialists arrived to clear and clean the building, whilst the council and its property partnership ARC developed a programme of works to restore the building for use again.

Our staff and books moved to a temporary library, set up in the Priory Shopping centre, and continued to deliver their outstanding services to the community.

The COVID pandemic has delayed the re-opening of the library but we're almost ready to start welcoming customers back and can't wait to see you all. Whilst the library has been closed we also took the opportunity to make some changes and improvements. Take a look at the links below to get a sneak peek of how it's looking, we'll also post updates here about our re-opening plans!
