Adventures in Music

Supported by funding from Arts Council England, Inspire has developed an exciting musical programme for children aged 2 - 5 and their families.

Adventures in Music is moving online!  Due to the ongoing pandemic and following the latest government guidance it is not possible at the moment to run Adventures in Music in libraries.  Instead we have a series of live online sessions for you to join in with at home.

A magical musical adventure for you and your little one

Adventures in Music uses rhythm, music and movement to develop your child's language skills, spark their imagination and build their confidence in exploring and making music.

Inspire are delighted to be introducing a series of live online sessions, brought to you from the comfort of your own home!

These new sessions will take place via the Zoom online platform for families to access at home and will be delivered by one our talented music tutors. Tickets are limited and booking is essential. You will receive a unique Zoom link and information about how to join the sessions once you have booked your place.

From pirates to fairies, a mermaid city to a monster mountain - there are 10 sessions in total with a different enchanting theme each week.so you and your little one can clap, stamp, shake, dance and sing!

How it Works

  • Adventures in Music is a small group, interactive session for children aged 2 - 5, led by an Inspire Music teacher.
  • Sessions will take place on Zoom
  • You need to book a place in advance – as only those with bookings will be admitted to the session.  You will be emailed a Zoom meeting link when you book your place.
  • Each child will receive an Adventures in Music resources pack (see below for details). We'll ask for your address when you book (UK addresses only).

Our aim is to create a welcoming and safe online environment for families to continue taking part in our cultural programme.  Safeguarding is of the utmost importance.  Our teaching staff are fully enhanced DBS checked and adhere to strict online music lesson safeguarding guidelines. Please read our Adventures in Music Online: Information for Parents & Carers for more infomation.

Resource Pack & Music Passport

Children will have the chance to develop and practice a range of musical skills. Each child will receive an Adventures in Music resource pack which will include their own musical instruments (postal address required) and an Adventures in Music passport (pictured below), collecting stamps for every fun skill learned!

Inspire Online Taster Sessions

During the summer the Inspire Music team were busy creating a series of Adventures in Music Online videos. This series of taster videos were for families to continue to enjoy Adventures in Music at home and to give an idea as to what the sessions are like. You can watch them all here.

I enjoyed watching some of the children visibly grow in confidence during the sessions and socialise with others and was able to easily identify those who attended regularly because they stood out in terms of attention, engagement and ability.
