Click & Collect and Home Delivery– New!

We now offer a Click & Collect and home delivery service! 

As we resume our services, we want to provide access to our libraries for those who may not feel ready to come into our buildings or may not be able to visit us. Our Click and Collect service is available online or via Ask Inspire. The service is available in the libraries that have reopened. Home delivery is also available,  if you cannot get to a library or are shielding,  just add a request in the notes field  of the form.

This is how it works

  • Fill in our simple form or contact Ask Inspire, providing us with some details about the kind of books and DVDs you’d like.
  • Our staff will choose suitable items based on your criteria. 
  • We will get in touch with you by telephone to arrange a convenient collection time. 
  • The collection sessions will operate at specific times when libraries are closed to the general public. 
Your items will be issued for three weeks to make renewing and changing your books more straightforward. You can enjoy no overdue charges until 17 August, but you may renew your items as normal if you haven’t finished with them – you can renew online or by contacting Ask Inspire. The only items you need to return after three weeks are DVDs and books labelled as One Week Loan. Items can be returned to libraries in the designated contactless drop off area or at your next Click and Collect session. We are still unable to accept reservations or Inter-Library Loan requests at present.

To help us operate within government guidelines and to keep you and our staff safe;

  • Please bring your own bag.
  • You may wish to quarantine your items for 72 hours before reading.

Customers who are shielding or unable to visit us

For those who are housebound, shielding or unable to visit the library due to health issues, we may be able to arrange for a volunteer to deliver books to you.  If this applies, please indicate in the Notes field e.g. Home Delivery requested. Of course, you may have a friend or family member who can collect and return for you.
