Safely providing services during national lockdown

All Inspire Nottinghamshire Libraries and Archives are CLOSED until further notice during national lockdown.

We can continue to offer limited services under current government guidelines (page 19) to help support our communities. We are committed to the wellbeing of staff and customers and have done everything possible to ensure we deliver these services safely.

  • It is recognised by the government that not everyone has PC access at home. Therefore, under national lockdown guidelines PC’s are available for essential access to public services only such as benefit claims and job applications. To enable us to manage capacity in our buildings and allow cleaning time, sessions must be booked in advance via Ask Inspire.
  • It is also recognised that access to reading is vital to support the health and wellbeing of communities, and we can provide Click & Collect within government guidelines.  To ensure the safety of staff and customers, you will not need to enter the library building or mobile to take advantage of this service. Books will be given to you outside at the time arranged, observing distancing and other government guidelines. Home Delivery volunteers will also operate within strict guidelines for their safety and that of customers.

We ask all our customers to also follow government guidelines;

  • Please do not visit us if you have coronavirus symptoms.
  • Stay 2 metres apart from anyone not in your household or bubble. Our staff are trained, and our spaces are organised to help you with this.
  • Please use the hand sanitiser available.
  • Wearing a face covering in our libraries is mandatory. Please wear one when you visit us, and throughout your visit, including when seated at a computer. We are following Government guidance on the wearing of face coverings and so visors are not acceptable (unless you are exempt from the requirements). Click here to view the Government definition of acceptable face coverings.

Our Privacy Policy has recently been updated, as we will ask for your contact details. They will be shared with the NHS Test and Trace system if we receive a request from them. If you have the NHS Covid-19 app, a QR code poster is available to scan in each library if you visit us to access a PC.

Thank you for your patience and support.
