The Award in Education and Training is designed to allow teachers to develop practical teaching skills which reflect the context in which they teach.
It is aimed at those wanting to teach adults in colleges, community settings, or teaching as a volunteer.
What will you learn?
You will learn skills to enable you to start your career in teaching and learning. You will gain an understanding about the role and responsibilities of a teacher and how to plan and prepare for a teaching session.
The practical assessment requires one 15-minute micro teach with 45 minutes of observation with reflective feedback.
Eligibility
You must hold a level 3 or equivalent in the subject matter you are teaching. A good standard of English, Maths and ITC.
The course will be delivered over 12 weeks or one intensive week.
Venues and course start dates:
Workshop Library - 1 week 6-10 August 2018
Beeston Library - 1 week 20-24 August 2018
Mansfield Old Library - Friday 14th September 1pm - 4pm for 12 weeks (Term time only).
You will have to complete 3 mandatory assignments and you will be expected to research and write assignments in your own time.
This qualification will allow you to progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
