This course will provide parents, grandparents, carers and any person who works with children who have additional needs (mainly Autism) the opportunity to create a book called “All About Me”.
The book is designed to help share vital information with other people who support and care for their child and to help them understand some of the best ways to help. (i.e., in school, nursery, childminders, family and friends)
It is a guide and a starting point to gather important information to ensure they are given the best possible care and support when entrusted with others.
The sessions are for adults who can then use the template and ideas to create the book with their child (as appropriate).
No previous experience is necessary.
The book can be used as a starting point of a creation that will be updated appropriately for each child as the development and needs change throughout life.
You will be able to identify suitable images, artwork or pictures that could be used throughout the All About Me book. These could be family photographs, images of favourite characters or toys, depending on the interests of their child. Parents/carers will be encouraged to involve children in the development of the book as appropriate. Parents/carers will have the opportunity to discuss and explore ways to share information, for example, likes and dislikes and ways to help and support each child in positive and creative ways.
