About this course

This 3 hour session aims to help adults gain confidence in their Reading and Writing skills. This is taught in line with the adult Functional Skills curriculum from Entry level 3 to level 2. This course will give a good insight into what is involved in our 19-week Functional English courses that lead to a City and Guilds qualification. These will begin in September 2021 and will be a good progression route from this short course.

You will be taught how to;

Identify and correctly use adjectives and verbs
Identify and correctly use text layout and some language features.
Produce examples of your own writing that is descriptive, persuasive, informative or instructive.
Feel more confident in your writing skills.

You will need:

Pen and paper.

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
