About this course

Looking to being a bit more eco-friendly this Christmas, then this course will bring out your creative juices.  Within this course you will use everyday items to create new and upcycled creative projects as Decorations & Gifts.   


Within the course learners will be introduced to several projects that use recycled materials.  We will discuss what materials can be recycled.  They will develop skills of assembly which helped develop creative skills, build confidence and social skills & hand eye coordination and improve fine motor skills – dexterity.   


They will develop skills of sewing and assembly within creating their new items from recycled materials


What will be covered on the course?  What will be taught to learners?

  • They will develop skills of sewing and assembly within creating their new items from recycled materials 

What will learners achieve by the end of the course? 

  • The learners at the end of the course will have developed a scale of looking at materials in a different way to create new projects from old these can include Boxes, Bags and Christmas decorations and some gift ideas 

You will need:

  • Basic Tool Kit – all-purpose scissors, glue 

To be finalized 

  • Old greeting cards, Newspaper or magazine pages, alternative unused wallpaper 
  • Old book pages & magazines 
  • Plastic soda bottles, paint, kitchen roll/toilet roll tubes, - paint and glitter 
  • Milk cartons and scrap paper/card 
  • Glass Jar, twine

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
