By attending this 3 - week course, you will be able to demonstrate how to produce creative images using the camera manual controls (Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, ISO and Manual) in conjunction with composition techniques and will appreciate how, by using visual literacy techniques, stories can be told through images.
Find out about the exposure triangle, visual literacy (communicating ideas through your images) and editing photographs.

The knowledge gained will enable you to join a camera club or photography association, or develop a portfolio to apply to FE colleges.
Please note, this is a blended learning course, with 2 online sessions and the final week being a practical group session at Newstead Abbey with our highly experienced photography tutor. Newstead Abbey is within the historic ancient Royal hunting ground of Sherwood Forest.
Learners must bring a digital camera to use during the course that has manual : Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, ISO and Manual controls.
This is a blended learning course, with online sessions. You will need a suitable electronic device such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet access. Learners will be required to download and use Zoom (free software).

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
