To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
Discover the history of crime fiction from the first detective story through to today’s themes and trends. Featuring the British ‘golden age’ and American hardboiled novels, along with various subgenres such as legal thrillers, spy novels, procedurals and psychological crime, this course will span the centuries.
Learners will be encouraged to engage in creative writing of their own as many different aspects of crime writing are covered including: research, creating flawed and complex characters/motivation, plotting (revelations, twists and timelines) and a sense of place.

As this course is online learners will require access to a laptop, smart phone, computer or tablet. The course will be accessed through Zoom.
