This course aims to bring together writers of all abilities to introduce you to short story writing.  For more experienced writers, we will look at refreshing and honing your writing skills.  Throughout the course, advice and support will be provided about how to develop an idea and structure a short story.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Utilise skills and knowledge to write short stories
  • Create several pieces of writing and/or either one short story, or several stories
  • Write either for pleasure or to a standard ready to submit for publication
  • Utilise a collection of your own ideas as well as those provided by published writers
  • Be proficient in receiving constructive feedback
  • Choose from a selection of methods to motivate themselves to keep writing after the course has finished.

This is an online course. A suitable electronic device such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet access will be required. Learners will be required to download and use Zoom (free software).  You will also require pen and paper.
