Jane Austen Persuasion

As Jane Austen suggested, it’s hard not to be inspired by the winding months of autumn. Focusing on putting our pens to the page, this course will be a short but intensely creative stroll through the season.

During this course we’ll draw on different aspects of autumn to spark ideas, using exercises themed round the season to draw out inspiration. An entirely practical short course, each session will be a mix of generating ideas, writing exercises and sharing what you’ve created for feedback and guidance.

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

By the end of this short course you will:

Be able to list a variety of places you can look for inspiration and ways you can spark ideas for writing
Have created a small portfolio of writing pieces, exercises and ideas themed around autumn

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?

These sessions will feature creative exercises that are accessible to everyone, from complete beginners to experienced writers.

The only things needed to take part in this course are:

A notebook
A pen

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
