About this course

Have an insight to the History surrounding Tunisian / Afghan crochet. To help gain an insight into the different designs you can produce from forming some basic stitches, you will learn how to produce your own creations. Working towards creating a variety of Tunisian crochet stitches using a crochet hook and yarn, such as the Basic / Full Tunisian crochet, Knit / Purl, Double / Treble, Extended Simple Stitch, Half Double Stitch, Crossed Tunisian Stitch, Tunisian Crochet Simple Stitch to Back Loop and Tunisian Crochet X Stitch, Reverse and Twisted Tunisian Crochet Stitch. To be able to distinguish difference between American and English crochet stitches, and Tunisian symbols. 

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?  

• By the end of the course learners will show secure knowledge of how to perform a variety of stitches in different ways – such as the Basic / Full Tunisian crochet, Knit / Purl, Double / Treble, Extended Simple Stitch, Half Double Stitch, Crossed Tunisian Stitch, Tunisian Crochet Simple Stitch to Back Loop and Tunisian Crochet X Stitch, Reverse and Twisted Tunisian Crochet Stitch. To be able to distinguish difference between American and English crochet stitches, and Tunisian symbols. 
• How to do a variety of crochet & Tunisian stitches, Basic / Full Tunisian crochet, Knit / Purl, Double / Treble, Extended Simple Stitch, Half Double Stitch, Crossed Tunisian Stitch, Tunisian Crochet Simple Stitch to Back Loop and Tunisian Crochet X Stitch, Reverse and Twisted Tunisian Crochet Stitch, using a crochet hook and yarn, and history covered. The difference between American and English crochet stitches, and Tunisian symbols. 
  

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course? 

• Learners must have some skills in performing crochet stitches. 

Resources learners should bring:

• A drink – water or juice, notebook and pen, and a hook size 4/4.5/or 5 and yarn/wool

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
