The aim of this course is to offer basic information and insights into what dementia is, and how people living with dementia can live well. We shall cover causes and symptoms of the most common types of dementia; and consider some person-centred interventions which can improve quality of life for people living with dementia and their families
By the end of the course, learners will have achieved:
Note-taking materials -either pen and notepad, voice recorder (learners are very welcome to record oral teaching as a reasonable adjustment but will be asked not to record personal disclosures). Learners will be sent PowerPoint presentations and supplementary handouts.
This course is based on interactive teaching and learning. Learners are asked to be prepared to participate in quizzes, question and answer, discussions based on personal experience, and case study discussion
This course offers a basic introduction which can lead to progression to accredited learning on a CACHE Level 1 course in Dementia Awareness which will offer a deeper and broader learning experience on this subject
This is an online course. A suitable electronic device such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet access will be required. Learners will be required to download and use Zoom (free software).

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
