About this course

This short 4-week course is designed to help you, not only improve your knowledge of Excel but also improve your employability.


Taking place online and in the evening- it will fit around your current work commitments.

Areas covered:

  • Formatting: getting the best of the ribbon
  • Formulas: add, average & totals
  • Functions: AutoSUM, absolute cell references, filter & sort
  • Pivot tables and V look-up

Having a good understanding of Excel will help you gain employment, for example, in the following areas:

  • Administration
  • School-based office administration
  • Data Entry
  • Accounts
  • Retail Manager

Require a daytime course?

Try the Excel: Formulas, Formatting & Functions Fridays 10:00 – 12:00


Learners on this course should already be familiar with Excel and be able to create simple spreadsheets.


As the course is online Learners will need a laptop/computer which is able to access the internet and connect to Zoom. 


Learners will also need Excel installed on their device.


Learners will also need an active email account as resources will be emailed throughout the course.


Booking your place and fee information

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
