About this course

This is a family learning course suitable for parents/carers with primary aged school children aged 5 – 8 years. Parents/carers must stay with their children for the whole session. A chance to take part in fun activities to look at what makes a superhero. 


Costumes welcome – wear your favourite princess dress, character outfit or dressing up costume! 


Celebrate the superheroes of Nottinghamshire prior to Nottinghamshire Day. We will discover about the legends and heroines that make our county great. Did Robin Hood really exist? Who kept a bear as a pet because dogs were banned? Which famous actress got up early to chose land for her best wood? 


What makes a superhero? We will find all the qualities and skills that may you one a Nottinghamshire superhero! 

A fun family learning session looking at the history of Nottinghamshire and the people who make it famous. Part of the session “are you a superhero?” is designed to build children’s resilience and  their self-esteem, to show that they are a  superhero! 

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?


A love of legends and heroines!

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
