To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West Midlands and West of England.
This is a course suitable for adults. The aim will be to achieve the City and Guilds 3748 (Legacy) Function Skills ICT Level 2 qualification.What will be covered on the course? What will be taught to learners?
The course will cover advanced skills in:
Learners will need access to a laptop or desktop computer with at least a microphone (headset or built-in). A webcam is preferable. The computer used for the coursework must be the same device running the Zoom meeting, as the tutor will use screen sharing to guide and assess learners.
NB: Android and Apple smartphones and tablets are not suitable; mobile versions of Microsoft apps do not have all the required functions.
The course materials have been designed around Microsoft Windows 10, Google Chrome and Microsoft Office 365, although other web browsers and earlier versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access should be fine.
N.B. There is a significant amount of work around databases. Learners will need a working copy of Microsoft Access or equivalent database software.
This is a Level 2 accredited course and is not suitable for beginners.
Learners should have already gained the C&G Functional Skills ICT level 1 qualification and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 (or similar operating system). Learners should be familiar with the keyboard layout and be able to type accurately.
The course will focus on advanced skills using the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Existing level 1 skills are essential.
As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course. Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.
