About this course

This course will explain what is Type 2 Diabetes, how you can reduce and how to manage the risk of

developing the disease, through healthy eating and being active.


Diabetes can be prevented or controlled with behavioral changes. This course will focus on helping

you to develop healthy lifestyle changes that will reduce or remove your risk to type 2 diabetes.

The sessions will promote awareness through easy to follow and practical advice. Topics

covered will include:

• What is diabetes

• Behavior changes

• Healthy eating (sugars, fibre, fats)

• Reading food labels

• Benefits of activity

• Hydration

Learners will also receive takeaway literature, healthy eating recipes and signposting to

reputable websites and resources to sustain their changes.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
