This 4-week course aims to help adults gain confidence in their Maths skills.

This is taught in line with the adult functional Skills curriculum from Entry level 3- level 2.

You will learn how to apply your Maths skills to everyday situations

You will receive a two hour online ‘lesson’ with your tutor each week.

This course will give a good insight into what is involved in our 19-week Functional Maths courses that lead to a City and Guilds qualification. These will begin in February 2021 and may be a good progression route from this short course.

By the end of the course you will be able to;

  • Correctly carry out column addition and subtraction
  • Confidently use a chosen method to divide and multiply numbers
  • Investigate value for money
  • Read measurements correctly and apply these to an everyday setting
  • Identify 2D and 3D shapes
  • Read data on a chart and input own data into a graph of your choice
  • Feel more confident in your Maths skills

We will be using Zoom (a virtual video application) to present the course.  You will need to be able to access it ideally on a PC/laptop or tablet. You will need to be able to send and receive emails from your tutor during the course and these will contain links to the information you will need
