An opportunity to learn more of the basics of the language as well as a bit more about the culture to allow you to make the most of a future holiday in Italy.  Throughout the course we will practise and apply our knowledge of simple Italian to build confidence in speaking and understanding (including talking about future plans).  As with Italian for Beginners, there will be a focus on usable phrases, with grammar introduced where it is helpful (including common irregular verbs and the future tense). You will get the most out of this course if you have already done ‘Italian for Beginners’ or if you have a grasp of some of the basics of the Italian language, including greetings, pronunciation rules and regular verbs in the present tense

What will be covered on the course?  What will be taught to learners?

  • More on travelling and sightseeing in Italy and booking/buying tickets for this (including talking about future plans and phrases to use when things go wrong).
  • Hobbies and expressing likes and dislikes
  • Grammar – irregular present tense verbs and regular future tense

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

  • Learners will be able to:
  • Recognize a range of simple phrases and apply them in a range of situations
  • Apply their knowledge to express preferences
  • Differentiate between the present and future tense in speech
  • Apply their knowledge to answer simple questions using present and future tense

As this course is online learners will require access to a laptop, smart phone, computer or tablet.  The course will be accessed through Zoom.  You will also require note-taking materials and a quiet space.
