This course is for people who wish to make the most of the photos that they take.  You will learn simple ways of improving your images and more advanced processes which produce more significant changes.  This is suitable for people who have some experience of downloading photos and editing software.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Digitise an image
  • Change brightness, contrast and colour
  • Remove specific areas of an image
  • Combine two or more images
  • Repair/Restore images

You will need to download the GIMP software to your laptop/PC.  This can be found at www.gimp.org (downloaded at own risk - please avoid downloading from other sources).  You will also need a device that preferably has a 30cm screen (at least) and a mouse - completing the tasks on a tablet, using fingers may prove unsatisfactory.  You will also need: a pen, paper, your own images, a seperate device to run Zoom through.

This is an online course. A suitable electronic device such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet access will be required. Learners will be required to download and use Zoom (free software).
