The course has been created to show you a more varied and exciting approach to landscape painting. During the course you are encouraged to explore acrylics as a medium. Working from photographs, this course will give you plenty of instruction from your tutor, as well as informal group critiques and discussions, all helping to increase your knowledge and enjoyment of landscape painting in a semi-abstract style. The course is suitable for beginners, improvers or more experienced ones.
Working from photographs, this course will give you plenty of instruction from your tutor, as well as informal group critiques and discussions, all helping to increase your knowledge and enjoyment of landscape painting in a semi-abstract style. During the course we will research semi-abstract artists like Soraya French, Irina Laube, Scott Naismith, Celia Wilkinson, work out innovative, dynamic compositions using a bright, colourful palette, with dynamic and bold mark making and practice painting techniques like impasto, scumbling, sgrafitto and blending
By the end of the course, learners will know how to use different painting techniques to create expressive landscapes in acrylics. We will explore how the formal elements can really help to give perspective and how this information can be used to create the atmosphere of an semi-abstracted landscape
