About this course

On this course, which is suitable for beginners, you will be able to create a range of natural Sherwood-themed crafts, including Christmas cards, hanging branch trees, table decorations, wreaths and natural gift wrap.


By the end of this course you will:

  • Understand how to identify and use natural materials, to create 5 natural winter crafts, 
  • Develop a more environmentally friendly approach. 
  • Learn a new craft skill, use natural materials, found in the Miner2Major Sherwood Forest area, such as pine combs, pine, holly, birch twigs
  • Know how to incorporate natural and recycled materials to create winter-themed crafts.
  • Evaluate the use of natural alternatives for decorations and wrappings.

Please gather pine cones, pine branch, small sprigs of holly, birch twigs.  you will also need  jute string, pva glue, card, wire, cutters, ribbons, old magazines or comics, an old book, ink and stamper (if learner has this).


As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course.  Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
