The aim of the course is to help total beginners to communicate and enjoy their holiday in Spain or Spanish speaking country.  The learners will be able at the end of the 8 weeks to greet people, introduce themselves to others, order food and drink (of course ask for the bill), get and give simple directions and do some basic shopping.  All these topics will be done in conversational Spanish with some basic grammar but mainly embedded in the topic and the practical exercises.   

What will be covered on the course?  What will be taught to learners? 

  • Greetings, basic conversation to introduce yourself to others 
  • Asking for drinks and food (asking for the bill) 
  • Numbers, days of the week, months of the year 
  • Basic shopping 
  • Basic directions 

What will learners achieve by the end of the course? 

  • To be able to communicate with people in Spain and enjoy the experience of eating out or going shopping using Spanish

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course.  Zoom will be used for the live sessions and the link will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.



To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West Midlands and West of England.
