About this course

What are the aims of the course?

The aim of the course is to provide improvement in basic Spanish language skills to enable the use of a phrase book.

It is suitable for adults who want more guidance on their pronunciation and how to learn important phrases for getting by in a modern foreign language: Spanish.

What will be covered on the course?

This is predominantly a taught class with a range of useful topics: aspects of the alphabet, introductions and greetings, the family, ordering food and drinks, using reflexive verbs and telling the time for daily routines, travel, opening and closing times, cardinal numbers and ordinal numbers used with simple directions, being polite, and expressing likes and dislikes.

Grammar will be a main focus in order to communicate effectively when speaking and listening.

There will be several chances to practice your Spanish in short group discussions throughout the course.

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

There are no final exams or difficult tests. Learners can progress at their own pace.

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?

The course is designed for those with no previous knowledge or those revising previous knowledge.

Leaners will require any Spanish phrase book, such as:  Berlitz Spanish phrase book & dictionary
