To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in the UK with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).


This course is for parents/carers and their children who are Early Years (ages 3-5) 

This practical course will give ideas about how to support your child with literacy and numeracy.  

Activities will cover a wide range of topics from science, literacy, art and numeracy. 

All sessions are mapped to the Early Learning Goals.


We’re Going on a Bear Hunt – will cover: 

  • Understanding the World – Facts about Bears, Bears and their Habitats 
  • Mathematics – Missing Number, Prepositions 
  • Literacy – Story Map, Sequencing, Writing Frames 
  • Physical Development – using movement/dance to tell the story 
  • Communication and Language – Role Play, sensory story 
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development – Special Bears Circle Time, creating a bear cave as a family

What will learners achieve by the end of the course? 

  • A range of strategies and activities for supporting their child/ren with fun and interactive learning.  
  • An insight into how to take a story as a basis for a wide learning experience. 

You will require:

  • Pencils, colouring pencils, recycled boxes, paper; everyday items. The tutor will let you know what you need week by week giving families seven days to get together their resources. All resources will be items that are in the home – no special purchases are needed. You will need to take photographs of the finished work (not the child) as evidence of learning and send to the tutor.

As this course is online learners will require access to a laptop, smart phone, computer or tablet.  The course will be accessed through Zoom.
