The Big Draw 2018: Play! Exhibition opens at Mansfield Central Library Gallery!

Mansfield Central Library, Mansfield

Time All day
Venue Mansfield Central Library

Visit our exhibition and discover what happened when the circus visited the library!

The exhibition centrepiece, created by the wonderful automata maker Keith Newstead, illustrates the hilarious antics that ensued. Keith was inspired by pupils from 12 Nottinghamshire Primary Schools and the fantastic professional artist Emma Reynard. They all had fun letting their imaginations, creativity and pencils run wild to produce an exhibition that celebrates fabulous libraries, amazing automata and the ever playful Big Draw!

The exhibition tour will continue to:

Beeston Library Gallery: Friday 4 January - Wednesday 13 February 2019

West Bridgford Library Gallery: Friday 22 February - Tuesday 9 April 2019

Worksop Library Gallery: Saturday 13 April - Sunday 2 June 2019

Why not join in with one of our FREE family workshops and work with Emma at libraries across the county from 6 October - 3 November. This years theme is Play! - for kids and big kids alike, whatever your age, no drawing ability required. With a sense of playfulness and magic, this creative hands-on family workshop will be inspired by what would happen if the circus visited the library! You'll create fun and expressive figures and use them to experiment with lights and shadow play to bring your enchanting creations to life.
