|Venue||Mansfield Central Library|
Mansfield Central Library are delighted to be hosting a series of dementia friendly screenings of classic films and musicals.
Paddington - A young Peruvian bear with a passion for all
things British travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and
alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realize that city life is not all he
had imagined - until he meets the kind Brown family, who read the label around
his neck ('Please look after this bear. Thank you.') and offer him a temporary
haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears
catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.
The screenings are particularly suitable for people living with dementia and memory challenges, their family and friends but anyone is welcome. Please feel free to talk, sing and move during the screening.
Doors will open 20 minutes before the screening and there will be a 20 minute interval. We will be sensitive to the audience when it comes to lighting and volume in the auditorium. A quiet room for anyone needing a brief break from the film will be available just outside the auditorium and toilets including an accessible toilet are also just outside the auditorium door.
The auditorium is on the second floor of the building with good lift access but the seating is stepped as shown in the picture and there are 3 wheelchair user tickets available.
If you have any additional requirements or questions before booking please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Tickets available through the Eventbrite link or at the Library.
