Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries is a proud delivery partner on a Landscape Partnership scheme called Miner2Major. The scheme, supported by a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, encourages local communities to get involved in projects that celebrate the diverse wildlife, important habitats and rich heritage of Sherwood Forest.
Groups across the Miner2Major area have joined in with The Big Draw 2020: A Climate of Change by virtually working with textile artist Jess Kemp to collectively create metres of silk painted festival bunting. Every flag we have received is a hand painted artwork from the community exploring the 8 themes of the Miner2Major scheme:
The bunting triangles will be on display at Inspire library galleries and go on to appear at Miner2Major festivals and events from summer 2022 onwards:
We wanted to give you the opportunity to go on a virtual visit, by displaying parts of the project here online! We hope you enjoy looking at the images and video that tell our Big Draw 2020 story.
Inspire would like to thank everyone who has taken part so far and look forward to adding even more bunting flags to the exhibition over the coming months.
Thank you to everyone who joined in with our competition to design a bunting flag.
Here are the winning designs beautifully painted onto silk triangles by Jess.
Please take a look - and see if you can find yours!
