BBC Music Day 15 June - Able Orchestra LIVE from Fountaindale School

Published 24th April 2017

Date change: now on THURSDAY 15 JUNE

We're planning something rather special at Fountaindale School for BBC Music Day on Thursday 15 June!

The Able Orchestra, an inclusive ensemble featuring a diverse group of young disabled and able bodied musicians from Nottinghamshire will perform with professional artists from the Hallé Orchestra and County Youth Arts.

On 15th June at Fountaindale School, these musicians will celebrate BBC Music Day with a new piece composed by them especially for the event. The event will feature pupils from Fountaindale School (Mansfield) and Outwood Portland students (Bassetlaw).

We can now confirm this performance will be filmed by the BBC as part of their National Music Day.

The event will be co-produced by Hub partners Orchestras Live, and this event follows the acclaimed performances by Able Orchestra at last year's BBC Ten Pieces Prom at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
