You get 2 qualifications in 1 with this Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training and upon completion you’ll be awarded 1 certificate for teaching and another for assessing.
This qualification develops practical teaching skills reflecting the context in which you teach. It is suitable for those who work, or wish to work, as teachers in adult community education; teachers/trainers in the voluntary sector; and training personnel in commerce, industry, the public sector or HM forces.
This course is also ideal for those wanting to teach and assess in vocational programmes such as apprenticeships and workplace diplomas.
You must hold a level 3 or equivalent in the subject matter you are teaching, and a good standard of English, maths and IT would be expected. You also need to have good personal and communication skills.
You’ll develop and refine your skills, improve your teaching and learning and use constructive reflection to enhance your continuing professional development.
The practical assessment of teaching requires completion of 30 hours teaching practice and you will have 3 formal teaching observations. You’ll also produce a professional development portfolio which focuses on teaching practice and involves lesson observations.
