Inspire Adult Learning

Our learning offer for adults 19+ has expanded too! We've introduced courses for people to socialise, and have fun whilst learning something new. Some of our courses also run evenings and weekends offering flexibility around work or other caring commitments.

People can improve their health and wellbeing, and employability, whether that’s building confidence with mathsEnglishdigital and ITcooking skills or crafts.

We're enrolling now for courses starting after February half term, including Cooking West Indian Creole Stew, Collagraphs and Drypoint, and Mindfulness and Mental Health. Looking ahead to April you could earn a qualification with our Introduction to Health and Social Care Level 1 Award

Courses are free (for those in receipt of eligible benefits) or low cost. Browse all adult learning courses at High Pavement and book today!

Prime location and modern facilities

Our learning centre is conveniently located close to Sutton town centre and Inspire’s Sutton-in-Ashfield Library, making it easily accessible. Ashfield District Council, with funding from the Government’s Towns Fund, acquired and refurbished the building to provide a top-tier educational environment.

Inspire has further invested in kitchen refitting, ICT infrastructure, furniture and soft furnishings to ensure a comfortable, productive learning space that creates a vibrant and supportive setting for the young people of Ashfield to thrive.

Sutton-in-Ashfield Library returns to regular operation from Wednesday 18 February

We are pleased to announce that Sutton-in-Ashfield Library will be operating fully from Wednesday 18 February 2026, as the issues with the heating are now resolved. 🎉

This means that the library will be reverting to its regular opening hours, and no longer closing at 1pm, and that customers will be able to access the library as normal. Our regular events will also resume, including Places of Welcome, and Rattle, Ryme, and Roll.

If you have been contacted regarding alternative venue arrangements for any other events, please assume that those alternative arrangements will remain correct unless you are informed otherwise.

Please note that Registrars will continue to operate their service from Mansfield Central Library until the end of the month.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and for bearing with us while we tried to do the best we could for our valued staff and customers under the circumstances.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused, and we are so pleased to be opening Sutton-in-Ashfield Library at full capacity once more.
