Mentoring (Level 1)

Our Level 1 Mentoring qualification will provide you with an understanding of the role of a mentor and an awareness of the skills needed to become an effective mentor.

What will we cover?

This level 1 qualification will help you: 

• Gain insight into the role and practice of mentorship
• Be clear about mentor/mentee relationships
• Ensure good practice
• Be aware of the specific skills and understanding you'll need in order to mentor
• Review your own learning and work performance.

Who is the course for?

Our Level 1 Mentoring qualification is for adults (19+) and ideal for anyone already working in a mentoring role or who'd like to develop their knowledge of this area prior to commencing employment. It is anticipated that the majority of learners’ progression will be to further vocational learning, leading to an appropriate and relevant occupational qualification at Level 2 or above.

How can I progress after completing the course?

Upon completion of this qualification you can progress with Inspire to:

• Level 2 Mental Health Awareness
• Level 2 Health and Social Care
• Level 2 Counselling Skills
• Level 3 Coaching and Mentoring

• Youth worker
• Care worker
• Youth sports coach.   

Course cost

The cost of this course is FREE/£135.00.

1)  Free - if you earn less than £20,319 or are on a means-tested benefit.

2) Payment help available - if you earn more than £20,319 but are on a low-income, we might be able to help pay part or all of your course fees. Email: learning@inspireculture.org.uk for an application form or if you have any questions.

3) Co-funded - if you are on a higher-income, the government will pay approximately half of your course fees.
