Films at the Library

Lights, camera, popcorn!

Join us for an exciting season of film at our libraries.  All our screenings are relaxed so no need to worry, just sit back and enjoy!

Love movie music?  Try our free lunchtime Sing with Friends sessions at Mansfield, Sutton and Eastwood Libraries.

Our Dementia Friendly Screenings continue with music megastar Elvis starring in Frankie and Johnny.  The hilarious Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly play the titular stars of Stan & Ollie, whilst Doris Day and Gordon MacRae sing in On Moonlight Bay.

We welcome back the Inspire Poetry Festival 2025 with two film events at Southwell Library.  If poetry is your passion you can enjoy an afternoon with Ben Wishaw starring as English poet John Keats in Bright Star.  We also have a free family film event from our partners Small World showing The Red BalloonAlthough it was released in 1956, this Oscar winning french short film will enchant and entertain families, inspiring your own poetic creations.

Small World is also back at Beeston library to end the school summer holidays in style.  Miniscule: Valley of the Ants is an action-packed insect adventure.  There will be a themed craft before the movie starts so we can all watch in our bug headbands!

Our final location this year will be West Bridgford Library where we are opening with A Matter of Life and Death.  This will be an evening event with a bar available and more films to be announced.  We’re bringing the full film experience to our library community.

Films currently showing at Mansfield Central Library, Beeston Library, Southwell Library and West Bridgford Library!
