Run by Inspire Youth Arts, The Proto-Type Immersive Arts project has launched for a second year and is looking for people aged between 16-24 to join their mentoring scheme that aims to build students skills and experience within the world of digital arts.
Working with local digital art company Urban Projections, last year’s cohort of students worked on, and developed, the amazing States of Matter installation at St Mary’s Church in Nottingham which was viewed by over 4,000 people as part of the city’s Light Night festival in February.
With a combination of studio-based sessions and online tutorials, the Urban Projections tutors will work with students on areas such as projection mapping, interactive design, augmented reality and motion design to explore forms of digital creative output. No previous experience is required but an interest in digital art and a willingness to learn are key.
The team will be holding an open day at the Urban Projections studio based at the Harley Foundation Studios in Worksop on Saturday 16 April where anyone can come along to find out more about the project, the studio will be open from 1pm until 4pm.
Dates for the year’s sessions (both studio-cased and online) plus the application form to express an interest in the project can be found at www.bit.ly/IYAprototype
