Whether you're looking to improve your tech know-how to refresh your CV and impress potential employers, or whether you're a total beginner looking to gain the confidence to enter the online world for the very first time, our free* or low-cost IT and Digital Skills courses cover a range of topics and levels to suit your needs!
Our friendly tutors will help you to enjoy learning in relaxed and supportive small-group settings. This means they have time to personalise their teaching approach to help you learn in ways that work best for you. By the end of your course, you’ll be thinking: “Why didn’t I do this before?” just like one of our learners, Elizabeth, who recently completed an Introduction to Excel course with us.
Our courses can help you or your loved ones to feel more confident with computers and technology! Are you the go-to when your relatives need tech support? Do you want to actually see your grandparents' faces when you try to video-call them? Our beginners courses cover the complete basics, from learning how to use a computer mouse and keyboard or smartphone, to navigating the internet safely and securely. Encourage your parents or grandparents to sign up, and help them to stay connected in today’s online world – call 01623 677200 to enquire about upcoming courses with our friendly Ask Inspire team!
For more advanced learners, you can earn qualifications recognised by employers with our various Level 1 and 2 Digital Skills courses, or learn work skills to boost your employability, with our courses specifically designed to help you feel confident at work.
IT literacy is a crucial skill for most jobs today, and employers are actively searching for candidates who are competent and proficient at using a variety of digital software programmes and functions. Our Level 1 and 2 IT and Digital Skills courses can help you to stand out amongst other potential applicants and interview candidates, and they could even help boost your chances of being promoted!
Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what one of our learners had to say:
"I have been out of work for the past nine years due to my mental health problems, and on my road to recovery, I decided to enrol on a course through Inspire with the hope of learning new skills I could take forward into future employment, and also increase my confidence. I chose an online IT course, which I attended live sessions from home. I was really nervous, but my tutor put me at ease right from the start. She was patient and supportive, and made each session interesting and enjoyable. As a result, I have developed my skills, increased my confidence, and can now start to feel hopeful about my future.
"I have loved learning so much, I have now enrolled on a second course through Inspire at one of their centres, that I am excited about starting!"
Our courses are completely free for residents of Nottinghamshire its surrounding areas who are in receipt of certain eligible benefits and who have been a UK resident for 3+ years, and low-cost for everyone else - you can learn more about course costs and funding information here.
Our free* and low-cost courses take place in person across Nottinghamshire or online, so you can learn from your local Inspire Library or Learning Centre, or even from the comfort of your own home.
