Shamara joins ELS with over sixteen successful years’ experience as a senior leader in education, including the past ten years as a Principal in Nottinghamshire. During this time, she has been a Local Leader of Education and Evidence Lead, providing support for senior leadership teams across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Shamara shared:
"I am very pleased to be working for Inspire Culture as Service Manager for ELS. I have been blown away by the skills, knowledge, and expertise within the ELS team and the tailored offer provided to each ELS member school. The vast range of over 300,000 recommended high-quality books is incredible, and the large selection of inclusive books to support SEND pupils is invaluable in helping schools meet the individual needs of pupils.
Reading has always been at the heart of the curriculum for children in my care, and I know that the power of evidence-informed, well-delivered reading opportunities, using carefully chosen high-quality texts, has a positive impact on improving outcomes.
With the National Year of Reading 2026 approaching, our team are looking forward to building on the great offer that ELS provides to support members in embedding strong cultures of reading, so that all pupils show confidence in and enjoyment of reading across and beyond the wider curriculum.
Considering the current educational context, during the autumn term, I extend an open invitation to all school and reading leaders to share their thoughts on how our Education Library Service might be further developed to meet the needs of their school and other schools across the region".
