Inspire Reaccredited with Carer-Friendly Quality Mark

Published 11th February 2026

Inspire Culture, Learning and Libraries is proud to be recognised once again as a Carer-Friendly organisation by Nottinghamshire Carers Association. First accredited in 2023, Inspire has successfully achieved reaccreditation following a review at the end of 2025.

Carers often face challenges such as stress, isolation, financial strain, and lack of support. The Carer-Friendly Community Award is presented to organisations committed to recognising and supporting unpaid carers who access their services. Inspire, which runs culture, learning and libraries on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, values the vital role carers play in local communities and provides resources and activities to support them.

Inspire’s commitment includes:

  • Carer Awareness Training for all staff
  • Posters displayed in public and staff areas
  • Books and resources on caring available in Inspire libraries
  • Staff trained to signpost carers to support services
  • Awareness raised through communications and participation in Carers Week
  • Flexible working options for staff who are carers

In addition, Inspire offers dementia-friendly film screenings, courses, welcoming community groups, and easy access to library services from home.

“We are proud to have received the Carer-Friendly Quality Mark again. This reflects all the hard work we have done to recognise and support unpaid carers. Our library network provides accessible touchpoints for carers and their families. We will continue to ensure our staff are trained and our services developed with carers in mind.”

“It is our pleasure to present Inspire with our Carer Friendly Organisation Quality Mark award, in recognition of all that they do and offer carers who access their services and activities. The community support provided by Inspire is invaluable and it means so much that staff take the time to help and listen to carers they meet. They are the community friendly face and a real hub for many carers and their families. Thank you on behalf of Nottinghamshire Carers Association for your continued, positive support. Congratulations!”

“I’m delighted to see Inspire recognised for their ongoing commitment to supporting carers across Nottinghamshire. Their work really helps make a positive difference for families and it’s good to know that carers feel supported through the services and resources provided. Libraries play an essential role at the heart of our Nottinghamshire communities, not only as places for reading, learning and culture but also as welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can access support, find information and connect with others. I look forward to seeing Inspire continue this important work and making an even greater difference to carers’ lives in the future.”
