People and text reads What's on in Broxtowe New Year 2026

At Inspire Libraries we love everything to do with books and reading, but we also offer so much more. We have a great range of adult learning courses and uplifting events for all ages at our larger libraries in Broxtowe, and many varied library-led groups, events and activities to suit all ages and local customers, with many available at our smaller libraries too.

Did you know that Stapleford Library is also a Learning Centre? We offer a wide range of courses here as well as at Beeston and Eastwood Libraries, including arts and craft, creative writing and literature, family learning, health and wellbeing, languages, work skills and employment, IT and digital skills for life and for work, and ESOL to help support English learning for speakers of other languages. With many courses starting in January, now is the time to book your place. You can also book now for Maths and English Functional Skills which start in February, which can boost your employability or help you progress to further learning. You can search and book all of our courses on our website here

Look out for your local Spring course guide arriving to your doorstep soon, and full Spring course guides available to pick up from your local Inspire library or learning centre from January 2026, or view now online.

Our popular Adventures in Music sessions, for children aged 2-5, re-start in January 2026 and are taking place in Inspire Libraries across the county, including Stapleford and Beeston Libraries. Book your place now.

Lullaby Bank starting in January, for mum and baby, is so popular it’s already sold out at Beeston and Stapleford Libraries, but there are currently a few places left at Eastwood Library. Book now for Eastwood and look out for it coming again to Beeston and Stapleford.

Also at Eastwood Library is Memorable Movies: Sing with Friends. These free sessions are suitable for those with dementia and their families, friends, and carers, but are open to all and there is no need to book. This regular relaxed afternoon event is a companion to our regular Dementia Friendly film screenings and is led by our wonderful Inspire music tutors.

We're part of the national Places of Welcome initiative, helping to provide a network of community venues where anyone can go to find a friendly face for a cup of tea and a chat.  Sessions run at many Inspire libraries including: Stapleford, Beeston, Eastwood, Kimberley and Toton.

Beeston Library will be filled with music this new year, with a Family Concert: Roots of Music and Jazz Steps Live at the libraries: Nicola Farnon Trio both taking place in February and tickets are available to be booked now.
