On Saturday 5 July 2025, the Able Orchestra (AO) Pioneers and Dyskinetic joined Red Hot Band and Mansfield Primary Choir at the Inspire Music 4 All Festival. Everyone performed with real energy and enthusiasm (despite being a little windswept!) at the Children’s Hospital rooftop garden and play area at King’s Mill Hospital.
Able Orchestra (AO) is an inclusive music and digital project for young people aged 11-25 across Nottinghamshire. AO supports a group of young leaders known as the AO Pioneers, a group of independent musicians who also come together as a band for collective collaborations.
The AO Pioneers and Dyskinetic performed a beautiful instrumental of their latest release, Between Worlds. Usually accompanied by visuals, the performance was stripped back for the outdoors. Each Pioneer then went onto play an individual track, featuring a brand-new release from Bradley McKnight called I Met You In The Dark, performed by Bradley on vocals and Marshall Fairbrother on guitar. Zoe Pritchard-Tye and Jess Fisher performed their tracks on CMPSR and Cyroflame showcased his latest release Thought Chaos, from the New Worlds Key EP.
The CMPSR, by Digit Music, is a digital instrument that uses a combination of a joystick and buttons to trigger sounds. The instrument is used across AO groups.
The AO Pioneers set was punctuated by some lively tunes by Red Hot Band and Mansfield Primary Choir. An audience of around 100 was in attendance, made up of family members of performers and hospital staff and patients.
A massive thank you and well done to all involved in this fantastic festival!
