Find your reading rhythm this summer
We’ll be inspiring children to explore the rhythm and melody of reading in the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Read to the Beat will celebrate music & sound – exploring how music and storytelling unite.
Children are invited to borrow and read library books over the summer. There are stickers to collect, with a medal and certificate for those who complete six reading goals (that they choose!).
The Summer Reading Challenge is a great opportunity for children to find books they love. They choose what they want to read – story books, information books, e-books, audio books, poetry, comic, joke books, and graphic novels, all reading counts –children set the tempo!
For children aged 4 - 11 (There is a mini challenge for children aged 0 - 3)
1. Sign up for FREE at the library - Join anytime from 4 July.
2. Get your FREE starter pack - The pack contains a sticker booklet and Storytime magazine.
