Advertising is all around us nowadays, but it hasn’t always been like this.

In this talk, local historian Robert Mee will look at just one aspect of early advertising – local newspapers from the 18th and 19th centuries, focussing on Nottinghamshire and  Derbyshire. Along the way, we will also discover some surprising facts about our local area in the past.
