Great poems want to be read! In this informal workshop session, we’ll be looking at some poems that are great to read – that feel like they want to be read. Some will be much-loved classics and some will be new discoveries. Participants will be welcome to just listen, but there’ll be plenty of chances to read poems out loud and to say a little about what you like about them. We’ll also spend some time talking about the best ways to really get into reading poetry.

About Jonathan
As well as being a widely published poet, Jonathan Davidson has spent many years finding ways of ‘releasing’ poetry through performance and audio. He has adapted poetry for performance on BBC Radio and created a ground-breaking series of poetry-theatre pieces using poems from anthologies published by Bloodaxe Books. His latest book, A Commonplace – Apples, Bricks & Other People’s Poems is a combination of his own poems alongside poems by others and with a commentary introducing the poems to readers.
