Proto-Type is a group of young creatives aged 15-18* who work together on creative projects with art and technology at the centre.
*Up to 25 with a disability/neurodivergent.
Membership is £40 and includes all projects and sessions between September 2026 - March 2027. Bursaries, including travel bursaries, are available.
Proto-Type membership includes:
Group welcome meeting for participants and parents.
A resource pack to get you started on your digital art journey.
Saturday workshops and school holiday projects. These happen at Urban Projections professional studio in Welbeck.
Opportunities to work on projection mapping for Nottingham Light Night 2027 and one other opportunity to create work for an exhibition.
1:1 online mentoring sessions with professional artist Bec Smith of Urban Projections.
Masterclasses with guest artists on Monday evenings at The Old Library, Mansfield.
Trips and experiences, to see innovative professional work and learn more about the industry!
We expect those applying to be available for 90% of the core project dates below, timings TBC.
Additional Monday evening masterclass and trip/experience dates will be added closer to the time.
We are looking for young people with a strong interest in art/technology/media. You may be studying this at school/college and looking to take this to the next level!

You will be invited to have a 20-minute Zoom call with Megan, the Creative Producer, to ask any questions about the project.
We will also be able to find out more about you and any access requirements you may have.
We will then confirm if you have a place on the project.
