Functional Skills in Maths and English

Our FREE functional skills courses in maths, English and IT will boost your employability, your CV, your job prospects and your confidence. Develop useful everyday skills that will help you support your child with their homework; improve your chances of getting a job; writing letters; emails; and shopping smarter to save money.

Courses run online or in person at your local Inspire library with dedicated and personalised support from our friendly tutors. Upon completion of your course you'll receive a recognised qualification.

Inspire's online courses are taught live, with a tutor and other learners in the call with you. 

Just as in a traditional classroom, learners will complete a range of learning tasks during the lesson, for example group work and quizzes.

You will use your computer's camera and microphone to communicate with your tutor throughout the lesson. 

In maths, English and ESOL courses where an external exam is taken, learners will be required to travel to one of Inspire's Nottinghamshire libraries in order to sit their exam.
