As part of the digitisation efforts, we’ve even been able to upload audio recordings taken from their original tapes - the contents of which had previously been largely inaccessible due to the technology becoming outdated.
In doing so, we’ve uncovered examples of Nottinghamshire’s regional accents, and insights into the daily lives of Nottinghamshire people and communities.
One example of this is the Factory and Fabrics Oral History Project, featuring genuine voices and experiences of women working in the textile industry in Hucknall.
