AIM Awards Level 1 and 2 in Carpentry and Joinery

Want to learn the skills and progress in the vocational areas of Carpentry and Joinery? Many learners have moved on from here to gain employment in the industry!

What will we cover?

You will gain the skills needed to be competent in the industry such as:

  • Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Knowledge of hand tools
  • Knowledge of basic joinery processes
  • Knowledge of fixings and materials 

Your skills will be assessed over the year rather than having an end test.

Our programmes also give you the chance to develop communication with others, work as part of a team, and improve your confidence before you take the next step towards becoming employed.

Progression and Careers

You may wish to progress to Level 2 or 3 Carpentry and Joinery or another vocational course. You could do a Traineeship, Apprenticeship, Supported Internship or gain employment in the sector. 

Locations

This course takes place in our purpose-built workshop in High Pavement House (Sutton-in-Ashfield).
