Join us for an evening of discovery at Nottinghamshire Archives where you will experience our collections like never before with Augmented Reality features, taking you on a trip into the county's rich past. 

• Take a peak behind the scenes in our conservation studio and more in short tours* of the Archives featuring AR content that brings you even closer to Nottinghamshire's history

• Hop about town with our interactive map of Nottingham, showing you images of local landmarks and points of interest from the past.

• View manuscripts from the Archive dating back to 1155, handpicked by our archivists

• Digitise your precious memories. Bring your photographs along for scanning - we'll send a digital version to you and preserve a copy in the Archives forever!

• Tell us a story - what do you love about Nottinghamshire life? Record your memories for future generations with our new recording equipment

• Be the first to view our new exhibition, commemorating five years since the first Coronavirus lockdown and featuring images added to the Inspire Picture Archive during the pandemic

Short tours of the Archives

*Please note that spaces on the short tours are limited so booking is highly advised. 

Come and see behind the scenes and discover the secret world of Archives!  Be the first to try out new Augmented Reality content to uncover hidden stories and images from the Archives, including a chance to visit our conservation studio. 

To make the most of our Augmented Reality tour, you will need a smartphone or tablet with an integrated camera and web browser. Free access to our Wifi will be provided for use in the tour.
