Festival of Science and Curiosity 2026: Archaeology Workshop at Beeston Library

Join the team from Beeston-based York Archaeology for hands-on workshops.

York Archaeology archaeologists will be hosting a series of workshops consisting of a number of activities that reflect the work archaeologists do both on and off site. The workshops will start with a brief presentation about what we do on site and a finds handling session. The rest of the workshop will consist of hands-on activities that will include:

Hand planning and site recording

Finds identification

Finds washing

Clay pot making

Photogrammetry and photography

There are three 90-minute sessions:

• 10am-11:30am
• 12pm-1:30pm
• 2pm-2:30pm (fully booked)

This event is part of Nottinghamshire Festival of Science and Curiosity (FOSAC), produced by local education charity Ignite!, in collaboration with a wide range of partners across Nottinghamshire. This year, the event runs from 9th -20st February 2026.
