FOLLOW THE MOON AND STARS by John Baird: Book Launch

West Bridgford Library, Nottingham

Venue West Bridgford Library

For centuries, Nottinghamshire has been producing writers of world-altering literature in its many forms. Follow the Moon and Stars is a guide to the lost, little-known and well-loved locations that have played a part in the county’s remarkable literary heritage: from the Arboretum to the Zara building, and spanning the entire county.

Join John Baird for an illustrated talk as he tracks down some of the writers, past and present, through the places they lived, worked, wrote about and were inspired by. Amongst the pubs, churches, grand houses and theatres are more unlikely destinations to have influenced the authors, poets, playwrights, screenwriters, booksellers, printers, publishers and historians that have helped make Nottingham a UNESCO City of Literature.

The talk will be followed by a Q & A led by Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature Chair Patrick Limb.

This event is presented by Inspire Libraries in association with Five Leaves and Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature.

Bar available.

Five Leaves bookshop will offer a discount on the night, on this book and other titles by Nottinghamshire writers.

Advance copies of Follow the Moon and Stars are available from Five Leaves Bookshop and through www.fiveleaves.co.uk

Look out for John's appearance at other Inspire Libraries as part of his mini-tour of the county - details will be on our website when available.
